At PS 527, the East Side School for Social Action, we believe that all students can learn today the skills needed to be leaders tomorrow. We will prepare students to be global citizens, armed with the academic and social skills needed for success. We will participate in social action projects each year, highlighting our duties as citizens of the world to make our planet a better place for all its inhabitants.
All students are individuals and deserve an individualized, differentiated learning experience. Through personal interest inventories, feedback from students and families, and assessments, staff will provide multiple class offerings and instruction tailored to student interests and needs.
We believe in educating the “whole child” - children must receive academic support as well as guidance with their social-emotional development. A counseling and advisory program for every child will teach students about diversity, tolerance, and respecting each other’s uniqueness and gifts.
PS 527 is committed to ensuring students graduate with the skills they need for future success.
